Mallory & Jonas - Engaged!

Y'all, THE LAUGHTER! These guys are hilarious and so much fun! I enjoyed every second of our shoot in Portsmouth a couple weekends ago. We took some photos on the pier where they had their first date, played around with the infamous Portsmouth Whale, strolled through Strawberry Banke, and got muddy on the way to Newcastle. I love when my clients are adventurous, and these two definitely were!

Mallory's ring is so awesome! I absolutely LOVE that it's not your "typical" engagement ring. Going with something different totally fits into who they are as a couple. There is no shortage of laughter or fun between them, and they are so comfortable in their skin. It makes my job all the more fun!

During the shoot, we had two unexpected drive-bys. One by their friend, and one by Jonas's parents. Their faces were priceless when their friend yelled as she drove by. :o)

After finishing up on dry ground, we drove over to Newcastle. As we were crossing one of the bridges I saw a spot that was ah-mazing. I thought of stopping, but knew we were on a time crunch with sunset, so we pressed on. Once we got to Newcastle, it was clear that the fog had rolled in so thickly pictures would be impossible.

So, not to be deterred, we went back to the spot I had seen driving in. To say that these guys were troopers is an understatement. Mallory may or may not have had to sacrifice a pair of shoes to the mud while walking to the photo spot... :o/

I can't speak for her, but I hope that it was worth it. The sun was setting so beautifully across the water and just cast the most perfect light on them. I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the session.
